Hi guys! Thanks for purchasing my lesson!

Today I want to show you how to improvise over a C dominant vamp using different scales, modes, alterations, chromatic note passages and how to develop an interesting phrasing.

I developed a series of Licks that you can use and modified if you wish.

The lessons contains the full video and 2 close up videos at different speeds.

3 backing tracks: 80, 95 and 115 bpm and a GP5/PDF file where you can find the whole lesson and licks transcribed.

I’ve divided this lesson into 8 different sections at two different speeds: The original one at 118 bpm and a slower version at 80 bpm.

You can find these videos at original speed with the left hand close up and the same one at 80 bpm, so you can study and practice every single lick.

The backing track is a C7 vamp, 5th degree of a Major Scale (F Major in this case).

The scales that I use to improvise are mainly 4:

  • Minor Pentatonic
  • Pentatonic Blues
  • Mixolydian mode
  • Lydian Dominant (4th mode of the G melodic minor scale)

Have fun! If you have any question don’t hesitate to contact me!

Cheers,

Matteo
