Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water

This song describes real events that occurred in Switzerland, in the city of Montreux. After the speech, Frank Zappa in the casino building, which was on the shores of Lake Geneva, the fire started.

As a result, a fire burned down the room in which it was planned to record Deep Perple band. It describes the fire and the difficulties encountered because of it in the text of the song and with the recording of the disk. Recording was only managed to be completed in an empty room of the "Grand Hotel".

Song name came up in the hotel room by Roger Glover,
bass player of the Band. One morning he woke up feeling under the impression of the fire, and he said aloud a phrase "Smoke on the water". The phrase entered the chorus of the song, and then became its name.

The song was recorded in December 1971 and released in the album "Machine Head" in March 1972.

In this lesson you will learn how to play solo in this song, which became
hit and even got into the Guinness Book of Records!

Song of the famous band was played simultaneously by 1,800 people in Germany, beating the previous record of the Americans, which was
raised in Kansas, where 1,683 guitarists was gathered.
