Hi everybody. This time we have something cool derived out of the position 2 in A blues scale. We're playing over a blues boogie in A, so this lick would fit perfectly in something like Joe Satriani's "Satch Boogie"

We've also included a teaser showing you exactly how to produce a professional quality recording. This will be live in a few short days, so make sure you come by and learn how to take your videos to the next level and join the Live4Guitar marketplace.

So this lick is played over an A boogie feel. This is a very bluesy sound and we will treat it as such.

Although the chord is an A7 - A(r) C#(3) E(5) G(b7), our "correct" choice would be the A mixolydian scale, but we're actually going to force the A blues over the top - A(r) C(b3) D(4) Eb(b5) E(5) G(b7)

A blues scale - 2nd position

This is about as bluesy as it gets!

Note how at the end of the lick we slide from the minor third up to the major third - this highlights the underlying chord really well.

Pay carefull attention to the articulations (slides and pull offs) as there will not only help you get the right sound, but they help to make the lick playable at speed.
